With a large cutting width of 53cm, the 5375 VS Alu petrol lawn mower is the ideal partner for large gardens up to 1,800 m². The cutting height adjustment can be made centrally with mowing heights available from 30mm to 85mm. Mowing, collecting, mulching and side discharge are all possible functions with this petrol lawnmower. The large, steel plated, ball-bearing, XXL low-friction wheels and the ergonomically shaped handle increase comfort when operating the solo by AL-KO 5375 VS Alu. Why does the engine of the mower smoke white after starting?
The unit was tilted wrongly, oil is in the muffler and / or air filter. The air filter must be dismantled and cleaned. Then check and adjust the oil level in the engine. Then let the engine run, after a few minutes, the smoke should decrease. Warning: unburned engine oil drips out of the silencer so be aware of environmental pollution! For cleaning, only tilt the appliance according to the instructions.
Why does the engine of the mower smoke black after starting?
The air filter may be dirty and need to be replaced. The oil level in the engine must be checked and adjusted. Then let the engine run. If the smoke does not stop, the device should be checked by an AL-KO service partner
The lawn mower is hard to start. Can I use start pilot or similar?
We strongly advise against the use of take-off pilot or similar. Chemicals can in the worst case lead to engine damage. We recommend a review and possibly carburettor cleaning by an AL-KO service partner
Why does the lawnmower run rough and / or cut out again immediately after starting?
Check fuel tank contents, top up with petrol if necessary. Some suction carburetors always leave a residue of one to two cm of fuel in the tank. Residues in the fuel or a defective air filter can get dirt into the carburettor. The carburetor must be removed and cleaned.
Which type of fuel can be used for the lawnmower (4-stroke engine)?
It can take any petrol with min. 77 oct. Super Unleaded fuel is 95 oct and can be safely used. Each motor is suitable for E10 - Do not store fuel for over 4 weeks as it will start to go bad if untreated.
Which type of oil can be used for AL-KO lawn mower (4-stroke engine)?
An SAE 30 motor oil is recommended, a 5W30 or 10W40 can also be used.
What does EasyStart mean on the Briggs & Stratton engine?
The EasyStart technology is a Briggs & Stratton feature which makes starting the engine up 30-percent easier to start and includes the following features: The starter engages earlier, requiring a shorter and lighter pull on the starter rope. A new carburettor with improved flow guarantees easy starting at low speed. The improved ignition coil provides sufficient ignition energy even at low starter speed.
What does ReadyStart mean to the Briggs & Stratton engine?
The ReadyStart technology always supplies the carburettor with the right amount of petrol. The primer and choke do not need to be pressed. This prevents the engine getting too much petrol. This engine also includes the Easy Start package.
Why is the lawnmower's grassbox not properly filled?
Possible causes: grass too wet, too much long grass, driving speed too fast, dirty mower deck, wrong engine speed, collector box ventilation holes clogged.
Why are the blades of grass on my lawn not cut cleanly?
The blade may need be sharpened, the mower deck cleaned, and the engine speed possibly set. Please contact an AL-KO service partner
The blade is not sharp. Can be reground?
No. The knife edge is designed so that the service life is optimal.
What does SpeedControl mean?
The mowing speed can be adjusted steplessly from approx. 2.5 km / h to approx. 4.5 km / h. Lawn mowers without SpeedControl but with wheel drive run constantly at 3.5 km / h.
How do I overwinter the lawnmower?
Clean the unit, change the air filter, spark plug and oil. The blade may be sharpened and balanced. Store in a dry place.
