Exact cutting, is how you describe the mowing result with a hand mower from AL-KO. We have equipped it with a special contact free cutting technique, which prevents the cutting cylinder and the lower blade from touching during rotation. In addition, the five blades are made of hardened special steel and can be adjusted in height.
This technique is very lawn-friendly and gives the impression that you have cut your lawn with scissors.
Top Tip: At the time of purchase we recommend also ordering the grass collector for the hand mowers.
Tips & Advice
The grass area should be as flat as possible due to the low cut height.
If you want to switch from a "normal" lawn mower to hand mower, we recommend the gradual reduction of the cutting height.
It should be mown more frequently, usually at least once a week. If the grass height is greater than the height of the mowing spindle, the mowing is considerably more difficult.
The best thing to do is to use the hand mower in the morning when the lawn is still damp from dew.
Frequent cutting leads to an increased water requirement of the blades of grass. This means that the lawn should be well watered for the best finish.

Can the cylinder mower blades be sharpened?
We recommend adjusting the shear bar according to instructions. The cutting roller surface layers are hardened and should not be sharpened as this will increase wear.
How do I store the cylinder mower over winter?
Clean the mower and store it in a dry place.
