With AL-KO's AKS 3504 safety coupling in tow
Even large pull-behinds with dynamic driving disadvantages remain controllable
Hanover / Kötz, September 2010

Thousands of proven cases in real-life scenarios. Top test results confirmed time and time again: for many years, AL-KO safety couplings have ensured driving and directional stability. AL-KO's selection has now reached the next level: with the AKS 3504, the Bavarian-Swabian company now offers a solution for large trailers with a maximum total weight of 3,500 kilograms.

The advantages of AL-KO's 3504 satefy coupling are clearly evident: swaying and pitching movements are effectively suppressed at the onset - the ride is quieter, safer and more relaxed. Nevertheless, should an emergency situation arise, the patented technology quickly smooths the pull-behind. In addition, the AKS 3504 theoretically allows a higher maximum speed - based on the 100 km/h regulation that came into effect in 2005.

Its functionality is just as simple as it is effective: by operating the stabilization handle, four special friction pads are pressed onto the trailer hitch ball - without limiting angular mobility when maneuvering or parking the pull-behind. The covers can handle a maximal braking torque of 320 Nm2. Emergent lurching motions are thus held in check from the very beginning. The trailer pulls straight and true behind the towing vehicle.

All common braked trailers with an AL-KO chassis in the up to 3,500 kilogram weight class can be easily retrofitted with the AKS 3504. Installation of the safety coupling does not have to be performed, inspected or approved by a licensed authority and does not have to be entered in the trailer papers.
